Thinking Globally, Acting Locally
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Romans 10:13-15)
We are all "sent". Of course, this looks different for each of us, but there are at least three ways to live sent;
1. Be sent locally
What does it look like for you to live as a "sent" one in your local context? A few thoughts and ideas to explore;
- Read Tim Keller's "Equipping People for Missional Living" (it includes lots of examples of what it looks like to live "sent").
- Engage your Community in thinking about what it looks like to live as missionaries in your local context through something like this or this, or some of the other resources here.
- Explore volunteering your time and talents.
2. Be sent domestically - church planting in the UK
We are currently engaged in one active church plant, planting with our friends at Life Church Seaford in the south coast town of Newhaven.
- If you are interested in finding out more about church planting specifically in Newhaven get in touch here, we would love to hear from you. For the latest update on our plans for Newhaven, see here.
- If you are interested in exploring what church planting might look like for you in the future, let us know here.
3. Be sent internationally
We have a heart for the nations and want to both plant churches ourselves, and partner with other churches to plant churches. We currently have a number of international church planting opportunities available, and a number of people in the process of preparing to move cross-culturally to a different nation. If you feel God has placed the nations of the world on your heart and you are open to exploring what that might look like, please let us know here.
